Position: Drivetrain Designer (m/f/d)
Project: lux025
Location: Technical University of Munich (TUM)
Description:
The TUfast ECO Team is on the lookout for a dedicated Mechanical or Engineering student (m/f/d) with a keen interest in the design and configuration of drivetrain components for the “lux025” project. In this role, you will join a dynamic team of students dedicated to the development and construction of an energy-efficient vehicle for the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2025.
Responsibilities:
  • Draft and design drivetrain components for the “lux025” vehicle
  • Calculation and configuration of the drivetrain for optimal performance and efficiency
  • Selection of appropriate materials and manufacturing techniques for drivetrain components
  • Collaboration with other team members to ensure the design aligns with the overall project goals
  • Conduct tests and simulations to validate the drivetrain design
Requirements:
  • Student (m/f/d) in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Sciences, or a related field
  • Passion for vehicle technology and energy efficiency
  • Good knowledge of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA)
  • Teamwork and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment
  • Initiative and creative thinking
  • Good communication skills in English and, if possible, German
